The LDS Cowboy and His Scriptures

An LDS cowboy would often have to work on Sundays, but he always took his scriptures with him in his saddlebags and studied them when he got a chance.

One Sunday, while mending fences, the cowboy realized his scriptures had fallen out of the saddlebags. Since they were an expensive, leather-bound set, he spent several hours retracing the path he had followed that day, but, unfortunately, he could not find them anywhere.

The very next Sunday, out of the blue, a cow walked up to him carrying the scriptures in his mouth. The cowboy couldn’t believe his eyes. As he took his Quad out of the cow’s mouth, he exclaimed, “It’s a miracle!”

“Not really,” said the cow, “Your name is engraved on the cover.”
